The Eye Height PresTX presentation switcher will provide branding for the channel, under Astra control. This will enable display of the logo and any bugs that need to be displayed on screen. Animated logos, sponsor messages and scrolling lower thirds will be provided on this unit. The Astra wheel will provide control of these features, as well as a Remote Control Panel provided in the MCR. The Eye Height Switcher will also provide downstream keying of the output from the subtitle system. The subtitle files, ASCII files providing time code and the Subtitle module of Astra will process text information. Astra will then provide the appropriate data to the subtitle system and control both the Eye Height and the subtitle system to produce and key the subtitles onto the master output. This functionality can also be used to provide additional information streams such as headlines and breaking news on top of normal program broadcasts.
Due to the available capacity in the Playout Server, programs requiring repetition can also be ingested into the Playout Server and played out under Astra control. This will reduce wear on the VTRs and tapes.
