System Reliability and Data Availability
Every organization has applications with data that must available at all times. For optimal data availability, you can configure your NETarray 2215AM with proven RAID technology. Choose RAID level 0, 1, 0+1 or 5 for the performance and data protection that best fits for your applications.
To ensure a high level of system availability, critical components in the NETarray 2215AM, such as disk drives, controllers, cache battery, power supplies, and cooling fans are all redundant and hot-swappable. Should a disk fail, error recovery is done in the background with minimum disturbance to host access.
When your NETarray 2215AM is configured with dual controllers, the ECC protected data cache memory (512MB or each controller) can be mirrored between both RAID controllers for even more data protection. The cache supports read-ahead, write-through and write-back modes for optimized performance.
Scale Up for Growth
If you think that clustering or other high-availability applications might be in your network's future, you could choose the single-controller version initially, and upgrade to dual-controllers when your plans become realities. NETarray 2215AM is offered in a standard, 3U 19-inch rack mount enclosure that holds up to fifteen 7200 rpm SATA disk drives--6TB (using 400 GB drives) of storage capacity in just one unit.
FC meets SATA
Each NETarray 2215AM controller provides two, 2 Gbits/sec Fibre Channel host interfaces, providing data transfer rates at up to 200 MB/s performance per controller, or up to 400 MB/s per enclosure for dual controller models. The disk storage technology, however, uses the next generation in affordable disk storage technology-Serial ATA (SATA) drives with an interface data transfer rate of 1.5 Gbits/sec. Each hard drive has an individual, point-to-point connection that improves throughput by reducing bottlenecks from sharing a common bus.

The NETarray 2215AM is an affordable Fibre Channel to SATA solution supporting a variety of host environments, including Windows NT.40/2000/XP/Server 2003, Solaris 8/9, Red Hat Linux 7.1/7.2/7.3/8.0/9.0 Red Hat Linux Advanced Server 2.1, 3.0, SuSE LINUX, MIRACLE LINUX (Std. Edition), AIX 4.3.3/5.1/5.2, HP UX 11i, Max OS X. Additionally the NETarray 2215AM has been fully certified with Veritas Enabled and Microsoft HCL for assured interoperability with today's business essential applications.
GUI Device Management
The NETarray 2215 AH comes standard with an Ethernet based, easy-to-use JAVA GUI for status monitoring and configuration setting. Additionally, the unit can be completely configured from the built-in, rear-accessible LCD control panel. Optional system management tools for Instant Copy, Remote Mirroring, and Path Cruise are available.
