Scalability - Its capability to scale to and manage from a handful to over 1,000 disk drives, up to 336TB of total capacity using 300GB disk drives, provides a great platform for Storage Consolidation and Virtualization. Adding capacity is achieved online without disruption just by adding disks and disks enclosures when required.
Manageability - The Silicon Storage Appliances’ built-in virtualization, any to any data-access architecture, performance monitoring and optimization, load-balancing, as well as intuitive interface capabilities make the Appliances truly easy to deploy, re-configure, monitor and troubleshoot.
Fault Tolerance - On top of the usual reliability features you have come to expect (RAID protection, controller failover, hot swappable drives, power supplies and fans), the S2A8000 also protects your content with RAIDed cache, disk chassis redundancy without downtime or loss of access, and "on-the-fly" Parity checking for both Writes AND Reads (Very helpful with SATA disks to limit disk corruption, and avoid drive failures events exhibited by other SATA Raid devices).
