For TV news, it is vital to display maps showing domestic and foreign locations accurately and fast, with no third-party copyright concerns. Viz|Maps enables you to do just that. With just a few mouse clicks, you are ready to go on-air with a 3D relief map showing the location of the story and any relevant political boundary, metropolitan and landscape features.

There are extra benefits of including Viz|Maps as part of your Vizrt software system. When you have selected your map, with the story location labeled and flagged, the map can be imported directly into viz|artist™, the real-time 3D design software from Vizrt. Once in viz|artist, a designer can create 3D animations ideal for plane crash stories, flight paths, ski reports, flood warnings, military activity, etc.

Viz|Maps is also fully integrated in the Viz|Weather product which allows the importation of geo-referenced maps. By linking Viz|Weather™ to a geo-referenced map from Viz|Maps, weather spot forecasts can be determined for any point on the map and rendered instantly in the form of statistics or weather icons. Similarly, isobars, isotherms, and IR or radar images can be overlaid in geographically accurate positions and then extrapolated as a forecast animation.

Viz|Maps already has a copyright-cleared global database running at a resolution of 1 km per pixel. Local map databases at higher resolutions can be purchased independently and loaded into Viz|Maps.
